Ron Regnas - Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals, and Grins
This is one happy bass playin' dude. I don't know of another person that is happier to be alive than Ron. He's a natural anti-depressant! Ya just gotta meet him as soon as you get the chance.
Mom bought my 1st guitar with 9-1/2 books of S&H Green Stamps. I played guitar for 3 years. However, there were so many of my friends that also played guitar (soooo much better than me) that I switched to bass. There I’ve been for the past 40 years.
During that time I played in several bands in the Chicago area. Some of which were quite well received (KGB, 80 go 90, Roscoe)...mostly blues rock.
In 1980 I hooked up with Studebaker John & The Hawks and stayed ‘til 1996. We had the pleasure of opening for:
John Lee Hooker Buddy Guy
Otis Rush Jr. Wells
James Cotton Rod Piazza
Luther Allison and so many more
We played at The Chicago Blues Fest, Buddy Guy’s Legends, Pier Festival in Holland…you know, across the street and around the world.
After Studebaker, I jumped around a bit until 2000. The Lord Jesus Christ came into my life and blessed me soon there after with CruiseMachine where I am to this day.
Ron currently uses the following equipment:
Amp: Ampeg SVT Pro 4 – 1600 Watt Power Head
Speakers: (2) Ported Ampeg 4x10
(2) Traynor 18” Folded Horn Bass Bins
Guitars: 1963 Fender Jazz Bass
1973 Fender P-Bass (Fretless)
1996 G&L 5-string Bass
1997 Alembil – Elan (4-string) Bass
1998 JB Player 6-string Bass
Upright (acoustic) Bass
Effects: Line-6 Bass Pod
Scott Groleske - Lead & Backing Vocals, Harmonica, Percussion, and General Jokester
Also known as DJ Poppa G, he's a deejay and MC who owns and operates CarTunes Mobile DJ Service.
Another of his side projects and hobbies is creating websites (like this one for instance).
Dia Madden - Lead & Backing Vocals, Percussion, Guitar, and Various Other Sundries
I had a lot of classical training growing up. I played piano, cello and had some operatic vocal training as well. But I always loved rock, blues, jazz and Motown…good old soul and R&B (old school).
I’ve played guitar on and off since 8th grade…I’m still only a rhythm player. The guys keep trying to get me to play a lead here and there, but I think Bob handles leads just fine. I play congas and some small percussion too, but not as often any more.
I have been singing for as long as I can remember. Growing up in a Lutheran family, it’s totally true, you do sing together in four part harmony in the car on vacations…long, long rides in the car!
I sang in choirs and small groups and with any bar band that would let me get up and sing. My husband played in one of them. We have been in many duos and bands since then. We have played with many musicians in the Chicago area, and have recorded with some of them.
We’ve done shows from the Roxy and Orpahans in Chicago, to biker events, and coffeehouses. I sang with Grace & Glory, (a kickn’ gospel choir out of JPUSA) for a while too. I love being part of a band though, more than a large choir. It’s the rock and soul in me.
CruiseMachine is the latest band. We’re like family, it’s awesome! I never had brothers growing up, but God has given me many now.
Bob Madden - Lead Guitar, Vocals and Moral Support
Bob is a seasoned (read 'exceptionally diverse') guitar player.
He not only enjoys playing but also teaching guitar.
Bob and his wife Dia are the music directors at The Warehouse Church in Aurora.
Inspired by the Beatles, in the middle of 8th grade, I bought my first guitar….a Silvertone with the amp built into the case. Remember those?
It was in high school that I started my long association with Gibson guitars, a mid sixties SG Junior. During those years, I performed in talent shows at school, the first Catholic guitar Mass in Aurora, IL, and various college coffeehouses in the Chicago area.
The next several years included stints in Colorado and California playing as a solo act or in a duo. I played whenever and wherever I could...in ski resorts, colleges, and clubs such as the Troubadour in L.A. and the Ice House in Pasadena...trying to get my foot in the door as a songwriter. Almost had one song recorded by Canned Heat!
Returning to Illinois brought with it a more serious approach to guitar playing. I earned an Associates Degree in Music, studied Jazz and Classical guitar and began a teaching career that has spanned 3 decades.
It was in the late seventies that I met and married my beautiful and very talented wife, Dia. Together we have written, performed and recorded music for nearly 30 years, and in various ways have served our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, through the gifts He has given us. Since 1991 we have been the Worship Music leaders at Warehouse Church in Aurora.
All this training, experience, and God’s grace has brought me to where I am today, playing in a band with a great group of talented musicians and very, very good friends.
Many people have said, after seeing a CruiseMachine show, we really look like we’re having a lot of fun on stage, that we have a good time playing together.
They’re right, we do!
Equipment:
1971 Martin D-28 with a Fishman pickup
1971 Gibson Les Paul (originally a DeLuxe, but heavily modified)
A Strat made up of Fender, ESP & Chandler parts
A late 30’s National double neck lap steel
Marshall JCM 800 100 watt tube combo w/2 Celestion 12” speakers
Effects include:
Digitech RP1, Boss Distortion, Cry Baby Wah, Morley Volume, Line-6 POD.
Thom Dixon - Drums and Thomfoolery
We are extremely delighted to have Thom "Sappy Flakes" Dixon back jammin' with us! He really adds a lot of excitement and fun to the group...and he's got this really cool drum riser!
I started playing drums professionally in 1982, playing every possible club throughout the Chicagoland area with two bands, "Freeflite" and "D'Rangers".
In an effort to further my career I moved to Southern California in 1986 searching for fame and fortune.
I found neither.
Thankfully though, Jesus found me and I have been serving him ever since. I joined various bands along the way including "The Cry" and "Love Life" (the lead singer of which has since become Senior V.P. of A&R for Provident Label Group & Executive Producer for Jars of Clay).
Taking a hiatus from playing drums, I took a job with a small, independent record label in Seattle, WA called Aslan Entertainment Group, promoting the following artists: African Children's Choir, Brenda White, and Guardian.
I moved back to the Chicago area in 1991 and started playing again in 1996. I was sucked in at a open mike night by listening to a drummer absolutely butcher a "Bo Diddley" beat. Figuring I could certainly do better than that I sat in and ended up playing 4 or 5 tunes. Next thing I knew I was circling used drum kits in the Tradin' Times. I was shanghai'd into playing at church by a very persuasive creative arts director.
I was a member of the following bands prior to my current run with CruiseMachine: Pariah and Pendulum 2:27.
I can't imagine having a better bunch of folks to be playing with than the current line-up I have with CruiseMachine.
Thom enjoys: Mountain Dew, Grande 3-pump/3-shot mocha from Starbucks, pulled pork "sammich" from Fat Terry's Rib Crib in Shorewood, IL, and skirt steak and eggs over medium from Granny's in Plano, IL.
Thom's Equipment list:
1989 TAMA Superstar Drum Kit:
9x13 tom, 16x16 floor tom, 16x22 bass drum, 6.5x14 chrome snare.
Zildjian and Sabian Cymbals, Pacific Drums drum rack, Vic Firth American Classic 5A sticks
Drum Riser:
Lumber from Home Depot and Curtain fabric from Wal-Mart.

Why we do what we do...
Simply put, we love music and we love to entertain! Once you see us live, you'll understand what we're talking about.
Here's what others have said about our music and our shows
EVERY PARKING SPACE FILLED!!
Dunn Bros. Coffee House
"We recently featured the funky classic rock and blues band CruiseMachine as a part of our Saturday evening concert series at Dunn Bros Coffee in North Aurora, IL. Before we ever heard them we were very impressed with their professionalism. They provided us with posters and fliers a month in advance, and confirmed the date the day before the concert. CruiseMachine brought in the largest crowd we have ever seen for our Saturday evening concert series! Every space in the parking lot was filled, and the evening was a huge success for our business. Their music was highly energetic and fun-filled to the point people got up and began dancing! CruiseMachine even made up lyrics to one song with our Dunn Bros name in them. We highly recommend this group, and we can't wait to have them join us again in the future."
Heidi and Armando Olivares
Dunn Bros Coffee
A BAND THAT PACKS THE HOUSE!
David Eversole, Owner, Daniel's Den Christian Coffeehouse adn Event Centre
"CruiseMachine is a band that packs the house and packs a punch! CruiseMachine has never failed to rock Daniel's Den. They always get the crowd fired up and on thier feet. I book a lot of bands, but my favorite is CruiseMachine."
Rock and roll you can sink your teeth into!
Weez Stockton - 95.9 FM
"Cruise Machine. Rock and roll you can sink your teeth into! Blues infused rock with a retro vibe to it. You will be listening to this at high volume. Dia has vocals that are very powerful with a blues edge to them. I found myself "cruisin along" to Cruise Machine. If you like blues and you like some good clean rock and roll, Cruise Machine is for you!"
Weez Stockton
Community Affairs Coordinator/On Air Host 95.9 FM The River
Rock & Blues Road Trip
Chuck Kelly - West Bridge Entertainment
"When it comes to Rock and Blues, CruiseMachine's CD, "V8" is all you need.
From the poppy, groovin' "Rescue Me", to the rockin' "Can't Take It With You", a drive-by packed with blues tunes, "V8" is ready for a rock and blues road trip!
The lyrics and vocals are emotionally charged with honesty and feelings.
The music has a bare blues, stripped down quality - an excellent kick of electric guitar riffs mixed in with emotional harmonica sounds.
Get it.
Put it on.
Enjoy the ride!

CM @ River's Edge Cafe 7-24-09
WOW! What a fun night. And we almost
made it through the show before the rain
came.
Friday night Cruisemachine played on the
deck behind the River's Edge Cafe in
Aurora
(
http://www.theriversedgecafe.com/).
Great turnout with lots of friends who
have faithfully supported the band along
with several 'new' fans experiencing
their first CM show.
As I said earlier, we almost made it
through the entire set.....but it
started to rain...just a little....then
a little more. And then there was the
lightning! So we finished the song we
were playing, 'Let's Work Together', and
that's exactly what happened. Several of
the folks that had come out to see us
all came up and started moving all the
gear inside. It was GREAT! What a
blessing to have all that help.
Everything was moved inside in a matter
of only a few minutes. Thanks to
everyone for your help!
Some of the friends that were there. A
special thanks to Lucie, Kim, Mary,
Dennis, Kim and Randy......you guys
ROCK!!!!
Also, a big thanks to Jeff & Cathy for
having us. The River's Edge Cafe has
great sandwiches along with lots of
other yummy stuff. Check out their menu
at theriversedgecafe.com.

Great job guys!

Good stuff coming' your way!

Sent from my Blackberry
Midwest Community Center - LaSalle,
IL
Hey! Look who's back....it's the CruiseMachine
CruiseNews blog!
Yeah, we've been pretty quiet for a long time...but
we're about to kick into high gear!
Have you seen the CruiseMachine calendar lately?!?
Well, since we're playing all these new venues, I
figured this would be a mighty fine place to let you
all know how the shows went, the kind of crowd that
was there, and all the other details you might want
to know about these places and events.
The last show we did was way, way out in LaSalle,
IL. Right close to Starved Rock actually.
Quite the road trip this was...and on a Friday night
no less.
I gotta tell ya, the Midwest Community Center is one
of the coolest little hide-away places! The dining
room is way cool with groovy antique furniture and
nick-knacks, a zebra hide on one wall, a very cool
wood engraved ceiling, and a very nice 'bar' where
you could get all kinds of non-alcoholic beverages.
They were serving up bar-b-que ribs the night we
were there (a different entree is featured each
Friday evening).
Right next door is a ten lane bowling alley. What a
hoot! I wanted to get setup in time to bowl a
game...oh well. Maybe next time. My son David (who
also ran lights for us that night) was sure to get
in more than his share of bowling! It's something us
'guys' do every so often on Sunday nights, you know,
to bond.
Anyway, there was a birthday party in the bowling
alley so the youngsters hung out over there. The
crowd we played to was a bit older...well, I guess
not so much compared to us...it was a good crowd.
:-)
And we were very well received! They had an offering
can up on the bar for anyone that wanted to give a
little something to the band...and they were quite
generous.
They also bought up the V8 CD's like I've never seen
before!
Yep, it was a real blessing playing for the fine
folks at the Midwest Community Center.
Stay tuned for more reviews coming soon.
